“Tell me who your heroes are and I’ll tell you who you’ll turn out to be.”

– Warren Buffet

“I love quotations because it is a joy to find thoughts one might have, beautifully expressed with much authority by someone recognized wiser than oneself.”

– Marlene Dietrich

“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

– George Santayana

My Favorite Quotations

I’ve loved learning over time from great thinkers about religious doctrine, libertarian philosophy, Constitutional law, republican statecraft, economic science, historical parallels, et cetera. Below are two treasuries of some of their politically-relevant quotations that I know have inspired me and that I hope may inspire others also.

Some may malign America’s Founders, but I consider them wise virtuous inspired men. And some believe that their principles are either antiquated (as humanity has evolved beyond them) or relative, but I believe that such principles are both timeless and universal, and that we ignore the wisdom of the past to our peril.

On Books

Some books that influence my politics most include: The Holy Scriptures; Prophets, Principles and National Survival by Jerreld L. Newquist; Second Treatise of Government by John Locke; The Law by Frederic Bastiat; A View of the Constitution of the United States by St. George Tucker; and The Federalist Papers by Madison & Hamilton & Jay.
